BIOGRAPHY
The Story:
Black AD is a finnish band, formed in Tampere by singer John Damien Black in late 2000.
Through various line-ups a great guitarist appeared in the band late 2001. "Hado was just what the band needed at that point." John recalls. "He brought a really personal style of playing in the band and he definitely had his mind set on the same gear as mine. Together we´ve been putting together an immensely tight and dark songs with a certain groove that is hard to explain. Sufficient to say just that his mind was certainly where it was needed to be."
Based on this vision of dark blues influenced hard-rock, punk and metal the band has developed a unique style and sound and it´s difficult to categorize that in any specific musical group. "The combine of styles comes from a few bands that I´ve listened to in early years and today. I´m actually really happy to hear that there isn´t a specific category to put us in. With Hado we have been pushing a few boundaries even further and are today on a very clear and even terms musically."
The band has had minor gigs in their home-town Tampere and they have recorded demos in 2003-2007. One EP – Son of the Fire Star was released in 2004 but according to John "The songs are to be considered as demo-tapings also, regardless of how many songs there are or how long the recording is." The band has had a changing line-up through the years on drums and bass, and as of late 2007 the band is seeking new members for coming gigs and recordings for 2008.
